September is Atrial Fibrillation Awareness Month
Atrial Fibrillation, or AFib, is a type of irregular heartbeat. Why is it important? A person with AFib is five times more likely than a person without AFib to have a stroke. Risk factors include family history, heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, chronic conditions such as thyroid issues and sleep apnea. Want to learn more?
